William (Bill) Edward Cosgrove (81) died at Heritage Assisted Living in Twin Falls, Idaho on Wednesday, September 10th, 2014. He is survived by his wife L. Rae, six children Kathy (Glen) Duvall, Filer, Id, Karin (Tom) Roehm, Ledger, Montana, Brenda (Randy) Rowe, Twin Falls, Id, Nancy Franco, Idaho Falls, Id, David Cosgrove, Boise, Id, Jennifer (Maury) Miller, Idaho Falls, Id, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, his sister Patricia Little, Burley, Id and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Catherine Cosgrove and his sister Kathleen Anderson.
Bill was born to Edmund and Catherine (Shaffer) Cosgrove on March 9, 1933 in Dubuque, Iowa. Bill was raised and attended school in Dubuque. He entered the Air Force in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1954. Bill married L. Rae Manuel on May 26, 1956, and together they raised six children in Marion, Iowa and later in Rupert, Idaho. Bill worked in the flooring installation trade for all of his adult life. He started in the industry at Appleby & Horn in Cedar Rapids, Ia. He worked for several companies in Idaho associated with the flooring industry and eventually started his own flooring business named Bill’s Carpet Service based out of his home in Filer, Id.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and a dog lover. He painted beautiful pictures and created 3D pictures of barns, old western towns, ducks, and more with a combination of painting and wood pieces. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. He will be dearly missed by his family.
Services will be held at 7:p.m. Friday September 19th at the First Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home. Family and friends are encouraged to share memories of Bill at www.rosenaufuneralhome.com
