James L. Sumner 65 of Rupert suddenly got called home to our Heavenly family of Angels on November 1st, 2014 in Mountain Home on his way to go whitetail hunting. James was born to William A and Mary Hawley Sumner on 02-12-49 in Wendell. He grew up in Jerome and graduated in 1967. He went to the army national guard until1970 when he was Honorably Discharged due to a car accident. He went to work at J.R. Simplot in Heyburn where he met the love of his life Lynn D. Roberts in December 1972. They married May 17,1974 and they bought a home in Rupert in 1976 where they raised 3 beautiful girls: Jennifer, Kimberly and Robin. James loved his family and spoiling his grandkids. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and blasting his music. James is survived by his wife of 40 years Lynn D. Sumner, 3 daughters Jennifer Sumner, Kim (Rudy) Zamora grandkids Damion, Aaliyah and future Marcus James due in Feb. 2015, Robin Sumner and grandsons Donovin and Trevor. His 2 sisters Garnet Martinez and Sheryl Sumner, and a very large extended family on both sides. James was proceeded in death by all grandparents, both parents, brother Bill, infant brother Robert, infant son Joshua James, Mother in law Vella Dee Arterburn, 2 nieces Brenda Sumner and Jessica Roberts, 2 brother in laws Charlie Martinez and Jonas Johnson, granddaughter Arianna Zamora, and nephew Ben Heck. Funeral services will be on Saturday November 8, 2014 at the Twin Falls Nazarene Church located at 1231 Washington St N at 4pm, Burial will be at Jerome cemetery followed by a Potluck dinner at Magic Valley Regional Fish and Game Office located at 324 S 417 E in Jerome.
