Obituary of Calvin C Dietz
Please share a memory of Calvin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Calvin Clarence Dietz (89) entered into His Father's arms on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.
Calvin was born March 10, 1925 in Leigh, Nebraska to William and Laura Dietz. He was the third oldest and the last surviving son of seven brothers. With his parents blessing he left his Nebraska home with 2 candy bars and $3.00 in his pocket at age 15 to join his brother in Hazelton, ID.
Calvin was drafted into the Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific Theatre on the USS Hector. He returned to Twin Falls upon discharge where he met Darlene Duff. They were married in 1948. Together they had two daughters: Darla (Jerry) Steglich and Cathy (Jim) Jensen. Darlene passed away in 1986. They spent 38 years together, working, raising their family, and caring for many extended family members as well as serving the Nazarene Church in their bus ministry, ushering, and helping with many special events.
Recognizing how lonely Calvin was, the Lord sent Pearl Beams into his life. They were married in 1989 and enjoyed a full life together in retirement working at the church and traveling. This union added another daughter, Sharon Beams, and four sons, Russell (Sandie) Beams, Tim (Carolyn) Beams, Denny (Tammy) Beams, and Jeff (Mary) Beams to the family. He became “Papa” not only to Darla and Cathy's boys but to the Beams family as well. He delighted in “ALL” his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Papa loved the Lord and each time he was in the hospital he made it his mission to see that those caring for him had a home church. If they did not, he invited them to his church, the BEST in Twin Falls!
Calvin is survived by his precious wife Pearl , two daughters, one step-daughter, and four stepsons as well as 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
