Joan, David and John and your families, I just learned of your Mom's passing. I wanted to share with you a memory I have of May. We were at Grandma McQueary's house; I was about 8 or 9 years old and sitting listening to the adults visit while sucking on a hard piece of candy. The candy slipped down into my throat, blocking my airway. I couldn't speak to let anyone know that I wasn't getting much air. May looked over at me and saw that my lips were blue and got right up , stood me up and gave me several hard slaps on my back. This dislodged the candy and I was able to start breathing again. I was so thankful for her quick thinking and actions. I wouldn't suck on hard candy after that unless it was a Live Saver. When ever I see Life Savers candy I think of your Mom and the day she saved my life. I know that all of you have wonderful memories of your Mom, keep them in your heart and she will always be close. My best to you, Sandy Graham
