Obituary of Jeanette Irene Skrederstu
Please share a memory of Jeanette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanette Irene (Sparks) Smith Skrederstu, beloved mother, grandmother, wife and friend passed away of natural causes on April 4, 2015. Jean was born in Marion, Ohio on January 22, 1934, and moved to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Millie Mae Sparks; son Rick Smith; five brothers Harold, Dale, Vernon, Glenn and Larry Sparks; two sisters Geneva McKenna and Twila Britt and stepdaughter Debbie Skrederstu. She is survived by her husband Bob Skrederstu; sons Douglas (Jerine) Smith and Jim (Rio) Sparks; her daughters Debra Smith and Julie (Jeff) Blick; stepdaughters Laurie and Tammy Skrederstu; her beloved grandchildren Bill (Ellen) Smith, Matt (Linsey) Smith, Ashley Smith (Alan Bell), Henley, Wreny and Piper Blick, Zedriq and Zelene Sparks, Lucas and Danielle Picard; her great grandchildren Mitchell, McKenna, Hunter, Pepper, Journey and Canyon Smith. In addition, Jean had many “adopted” children and grandchildren including Jack, Randi, Nikol, Lucy and Linsey. She never met a stranger and everyone young and old became a friend to her. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, dancer and porcelain doll maker. She had a flair for style and a zest for life. In her later years it was all about family…..well in all honesty, grandchildren! She loved them with her whole being. Worrying about them is what she did best. The world is definitely a sadder place with her passing. She was a brave, loving and kind woman with a great sense of humor and a passion for life. Our hearts are broken with our loss, but are full of love and laughter in the many wonderful memories we shared with this remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, please donate or send food to People for Pets (Twin Falls Animal Shelter). She always left a bowl of food outside her door for the “Freeloaders” whether they be cats, dogs or squirrels. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her caregivers especially Jackie, Brian, Ashley, Carmen and Kathy. We imagine the Canasta cards have been dealt and the laughter and tall tales are flowing in heaven at this time. We love you Mom/Grandma. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, April 12th at 11:00 am at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. E. Reception to follow.
