Allen J. Meier, 92, of Twin Falls passed away on Monday August 24, 2015 at Syringa Place in Twin Falls. Allen was born on March 12, 1923 in Twin Falls, ID to Martin and Alvina (Fielder) Meier. He served in the US Army in Battery B of the 8th Field Artillery stationed in the South Pacific in the Philippine Islands and Japan during WWII. Allen farmed and lived west of Twin Falls all of his life and retired in 1985 from the Twin Falls Post Office as a city carrier. Allen was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls. On April 16, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri he married Norma Prante and they were married for 60 years. He is survived by his wife Norma Meier of Twin Falls; son Dr. Gary Allen (Linda) Meier of Boonton, New Jersey, and one grandson Ryan Allen Meier of Princeton, New Jersey. Allen is also survived by two step granddaughters Alyssa & Nicole Crawford of Boonton, New Jersey and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters Norma Bottcher, Lucille Linder, Wilma Bodrero, and Dorothy Dohse. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday August 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls with services to follow at the church at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Park. Donations may be made in Allen’s honor to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Rosenau Funeral Home.
