Blanche (Hazel) Smith Larson passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in Twin Falls with family at her side. She was born in Marian, Idaho February 8, 1923 the 8th of 9 children. Hazel was raised in the Marian, Oakley area. She graduated from Oakley High in 1941. She met her eternal companion Alvin in 1939 and they were married in 1941. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 2, 1942. Alvin was drafted in May of 1945 and went to Camp Wolters, Texas and then to Fort Ord. She joined him when he was transferred to Fort Missoula. He was discharged in May of 1946. They lived in the Burley and Oakley area until September of 1955 when they moved to Twin Falls. Hazel worked 5 years at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital. In May of 1961 she was hired by Fidelity National Bank which later became Idaho First National Bank and then West One Bank. Hazel retired after 25 years and 2 weeks. She loved sewing, gardening and was an excellent cook. She loved doing things for others, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hazel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Hazel is survived by 2 sons John (Cindy), Doug (Tammy), six grandchildren, Doris, Tharon, Charlene, Ryan, Brandon, Rachelle, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, daughter Cheryl and seven siblings. The family suggests memorials be given to the Humanitarian Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am; Saturday, October 31 at the LDS First Ward building at 847 Eastland Drive N. Family will be greeting friends 1 hour prior to the services.
