Gary Fischer, a loving husband, father and life-long resident of Idaho, passed away on December 11, 2015 at the age of 60 in his home surrounded by his loving family after an abrupt diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer.
Gary is survived by his parents Frank and Theresa Fischer; his brothers Dale Fischer, Ken (Debbie) Fischer, his sister JoAnn (Lee) Castleman; his wife, Jayne (Pietersma) Fischer; his children, Jessica (Jeff) Morford, Katrina (Josh) Prince, and JaNae Fischer; his grandchildren Deegan, Krew, and Oakley Prince.
Gary was born in Jerome, Idaho on May 24, 1955 to Frank and Theresa Fischer. On September 13, 1975, he married Jayne, a cake decorator and his high school sweetheart. On August 21, 1976, December 27, 1982, and October 15, 1991, he welcomed his three beautiful daughters, who were the most important part of his life.
Gary graduated from Buhl High School in 1973 and worked as Shop Foreman for Simplot Soilbuilders retiring in 2011 after 35 years of service. In 2003, with his wife, he purchased The Cookie Basket, Inc. and started Fischer Ag, Inc. In 2013, Fischer Ag, Inc. was dissolved and he began working at CSC Farms in Jerome, Idaho.
Gary was a devoted husband, father, and provider, working multiple jobs at times to fulfill his family’s needs. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, and four wheeling with family and friends. He enjoyed watching the beautiful sunrises, sunsets, the activity of the local wildlife that would seasonally return to his dream home he shared with his wife in Jerome Idaho. The joy and love that he brought to all, will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A viewing will be held at Rosenau Funeral Home December 18, 2015 from six to eight in the evening. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on December 19, 2015 at the First Church of the Nazarene 1231 Washington St. N. in Twin Falls, Idaho. Joel Prince will officiate. Services are being conducted by Rosenau Funeral Home in Twin Falls, Idaho. We would like friends and family to join us for a celebration luncheon directly after services.
