Mattie Louise Higgins of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away on February 24, 2018 at the age of 81. Mattie was born on July 7, 1936 in Weaubleau, Missouri to Ernest and Mattie Marie Routt. She was second to the youngest of eight children; five boys and three girls. The family moved to Kimberly when she was very young, she graduated from Kimberly High School. Mattie married David Higgins in 1954. They were High School sweethearts and was blessed with two children David and Marilyn. Mom and dad traveled a lot over the years. David worked on road construction for years and Mattie was employed at CSI. Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her brother Franks, her son David Jr. (Merle) Higgins and their two sons Tony and Nick (Janie) Higgins; her daughter Marilyn (Brad) McDonald and their two daughters, Mistilyn McDonald and Cherilyn (Tom) Olsen and son Brad McDonald. In keeping with her wishes there will be no formal services. Cremation has taken place at Rosenau Funeral Home. Thank you to Heritage Assisted Living for their care of both Mattie and David (dad passed away April 2017) and also Serenity Healthcare.
