My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Richard. God comfort us and give us the courage to bear our pain. He does so mainly through his Word, the Bible, and through the gift of prayer. Paul tells us that God lovingly gives us His Word, so that through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope. Additionally, through heartfelt prayers, we can come to experience the peace of God that excels all thought. Roman 15:4; Phil 4:7. Visit JW.org.

Richard, I am thankful for having you as part of my life. Mom met her match when you two got together. You were a good man. RIP

Our Pops.
Typing this is truly the end of an era. For some reason after Mom passed, there was still something holding her here with all of us and it was difficult to mourn her passing completely. The void with Richard's passing almost seems insurmountable. He has taken that last thread with him and nothing in this world will ever be the same again.
I hate labels, like step this or half that when speaking of family. There was nothing "step" about this man. He was our Pops, nothing less and so very much more. He was a vibrant, funny, smart, tough, loving, creative, patient (no small feat with this family) stubborn, handsome, hard working man. He came into my life in my very early 20's and after 30+ years was in my life for longer than for the time period he wasn't. I watched him build the Forest Falls house from the ground up with his partner in crime by his side. He was there the day I got married, at the hospital holding his first grandchild and coming to my rescue at times I needed the help most. Richard could never be without a project. Even in what were his retirement years and fighting against the Parkinson's that so cruelly took him over, he lived every moment he could to the fullest.
Pops, you will never be forgotten, you will never be replaced and you are leaving a hole in this world that is as larger than life, as you were for all of us. Give Mom a hug and a kiss from us, we love you dearly .....
