Obituary of Earl Lamar Lauritzen

Earl LaMar Lauritzen, 79 currently of Twin Falls, Idaho went to a better place. LaMar was the third born child to Arden and Verna (Williams) Lauritzen, on February 20th 1939, at the Twin Falls Hospital. He was raised up on Camas Prairie where he and his sister Arveda (Kent) had many adventures and terrorized everything from their older brother Eldon to a poor badger they brought home tied to the handlebars of their bicycle. Twelve years after LaMar, his baby brother, Clifton was born. LaMar graduated from Fairfield and worked at Johnny's Sawmill. In 1963 he married Dixie Winegar (Shroeder). They lived on the prairie a short time before moving to Seattle, Washington where he worked for Boeing Aircraft Company. In 1968 his daughter Beverly (Chambers) was born and his son, Paul, followed in 1969. Soon after they moved back to Camas Prairie to raise the children and for LaMar to be a farmer. He loved farming and grew hay, wheat, barley and one year a small patch of sunflowers. In the winters he was a ski patrolman at Soldier Mountain. Some days you could find him playing cards with friends at the Club Cigar in Fairfield. He was honest, hardworking and quite the character. He loved to poke fun and give you a bad time. I'm sure his niece Allison won't soon forget the difference between doughnuts and maple bars. His niece Treena would tell you, "Ya know, it's in the water". He and Dixie divorced in 1983. In 1984 he married Dot (Handy) Lauritzen. As soon as Dot's son Steven left home, they began to travel. LaMar would proudly proclaim "We're homeless on purpose". He's proceeded to the Lord's house by his parents, Arden and Verna Lauritzen and older brother Eldon and wife Marie. He is survived by his wife, Dot, her children, grandkids and great grandkids, his daughter Bev (Brandon) Chambers, her kids and grandkids. His son Paul, wife Angie and their boys Daniel and Aaron. His sister Arveda (Grant) Kent, their daughters, Treena, Allison and Gaylene. His brother Clifton (Margorit) Lauritzen, his kids, and by Eldon and Marie's kids. He will be severely missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever bring a smile to our faces and a twinkle to our eyes. Love you Daddy!
