Pastor Dale Walker...my early childhood pastor...a lifetime of felt connection for my family and me.
He baptized me in 1962
He was there for my dad and we three siblings through the sudden passing of our mother in 1964
He later was academic Dean and instructor at the Bible College I attended
He and wife Helen travelled to Iowa to perform our wedding ceremony 1973
He traveled from Idaho to speak nd support us at our father's funeral in 1992
My sister and I attended the 50th wedding anniversary for the Walkers
So, my wife and I just needed to be present at his service to say "Thank you."
I am sure there are many others down through the years who were blessed to hear him solo "Down From His Glory" (to the melody of O Solo Mio). He sang those lyrics with energy, conviction, and absolute devotion--just as he served others and his Lord.
I knew Dale only a few short months but in that time I was amazed at the knowledge housed in that brilliant mind. Dale claimed he learned from me, and that is possible, but what I learned from him was a far greater value and more applicable with a life based in God. Thank God for sharing his precious Dale with me. I shall miss Dale’s smile and his upbeat attitude.
I am sure God has said “Welcome good and faithful servant”! I say hallelujah faithful disciple of Jesus, now is a time for rest.

I knew Dale to be a man who carried the presence of God with him. Kind, gentle, good, loving, generous and tuned into the Spirit. I loved praying with Dale, his relationship with The Lord is so tangible that he touched heaven quickly and certainly. Dale is in His Savior’s arms and with his sweet bride!
I met Dale 6 years ago when I was needing to rent a house quickly and he was so very kind. I asked him what he did for a living and here is what he told me, "I am a retired minister just waiting to go home to be with my wife and my Lord". However he was not going to let moss grow under his feet until that time came. He would share the Good News as long as he was here. I had the privilege of hearing him preach a few times, it was unforgettable. He was a real blessing and friend to me. I truly loved Dale and he will be missed by myself and all the lives he had touched.
