Obituary of Florrie Arrington

My darling wife Florrie Wells Arrington died Saturday July 14, 2018 after a 16 year struggle with leukemia. Florrie had just celebrated her 70th birthday in June. We would have celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary in December. Florrie was the most clever, charming, and smart person, man or woman, I ever met. Her advancement from part-time U.S. Post Office clerk at a postal contract station to Twin Falls Pioneer Office Station Manager indicates more people than just me appreciated her great capabilities. In anticipation of her death Florrie wrote the following as her obituary: I was born in Glascock County, Georgia in 1948 to Willie Beired Wells and Adell Sammons Wells. I graduated from Glascock Consolidated High School in 1966. I met the love of my life, Judson Hulon Arrington on a blind date in Augusta, Georgia in 1967. We were married in December of 1968. We were blessed with our first child, Ivan, in 1974. Our life changed in 1976 when Judson accepted a transfer from Southern Bell in Georgia to Mountain Bell in Boise, Idaho. Winters were cold and very snowy and created many adventures for this Southern transplanted family. One of the first being the arrival of our daughter, Brittin, two weeks after arriving in Idaho. We moved to Eden, Idaho in 1977 where we were surrounded by cows and farmland and wonderful landlords, Henry and Blanche Case, who became life long friends. A few years later we moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and we have made Twin Falls our home for 40 years. I went to work with the United States Post Office in 1982 and retired in 2004. Judson, the kids, and I enjoyed many summer vacations to see family, museums, and amusement parks. Upon retiring Judson and I made trips to France, Hawaii, and several to Victoria, British Columbia. I really enjoyed walking the Twin Falls Canyon Trail, cooking, reading, and scrapbooking. I would like to thank my doctors and hospital support staff at St. Luke's for making my struggle and final days as least difficult as is possible. Since my death is imminent I will be survived by my husband Judson of Twin Falls, our son Ivan, his wife Rosario, and their two children Naomi and Malcolm all living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and our daughter Brittin, her husband Aaron Keenan, and their daughter Shaleah all living in Limon, Colorado. I also have one sister, Rendia Kent, in Oklahoma and one brother, Lewis Wells, living in Gibson, Georgia and several nieces and nephews and cousins. I was preceded in death by my parents, three brothers, and three sisters. I much enjoyed the time spent with several ladies who met for coffee and friendship at McDonald's over the years. I send a very special thank you to JoAn Rice, Candy Weth, and Sandy Kiser for your cards, letters, calls, visits, prayers, and food during this last year of pain and distress. A thank you to my husband for being my caregiver and my partner in this long journey. Florrie stopped there. Her viewing will be at Rosenau Funeral Home, 2826 Addison Ave. East, Twin Falls, Idaho on Thursday July 19, 2018 for three hours starting at 6:00 P.M. Cremation will follow.
