12/23/1975 – 7/11/2018

Michael ‘Mike’ K. Pierce, Jr., (43) passed away unexpectedly at his home in Central Point, Oregon, on July 11, 2018.

Mike was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Kathy (Blamires) Pierce and Michael ‘Keith’ Pierce, Sr. He attended Jerome, Twin Falls and Wendell schools. During his junior high and high school years, he was very athletic, competitive and loved participating in Baseball, Football and Wrestling. His personal motto became, ‘No Fear.’ He was intelligent, a people person with a gift for words and he was blessed with a unique and witty sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh and would give you the shirt off his back. Mike had a huge heart, frequently rescuing abandoned and unwanted pets, with an occasional rescue of a troubled friend and/or acquaintances. He appreciated art, worked in tattooing and loved music. The combination of Mike’s adventurous soul and ‘No Fear’ attitude, kept him very busy throughout his lifetime.

By 1985, Mike had become the ‘big brother to Anthony ‘Tony’ Ostrander, Matthew ‘Matt’ Ostrander and Bryant Pierce. His favorite activities included camping, fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding and summer vacations with his family, maternal grandparents and step-father, John Ostrander (wife, Flo Wiggins Ostrander and family.) He loved family gatherings with his brothers, their families, his Aunt Kathy, Aunt Barbara (April and family), Uncle Marvin Pierce including his cousins: Amanda, Andy, Geoff, Katie Pierce and their families, all held special places in his heart.

In 2004, Mike moved to Oregon where he became a professional concrete contractor, cement mason and concrete finisher.  While working in this profession, he traveled to Alaska, Idaho and throughout Oregon. Additionally, he took great pride in his creation of water feature designs. He frequently voiced his deep appreciation for Ron Joslin who taught him the concrete business, stating, “He’s the best I’ve ever seen or worked with. He’s been like my dad.” While in Oregon, he met the love of his life and married Trina Riggs-Pierce. On Mike’s Facebook page, he proudly summarized his feelings with the statement, “I Love My Family.”

He is survived by his wife, Trina Riggs-Pierce, his children: Alaina, Alyssa, Ethan, Ronnie and Matti Pierce, Justin Montgomery and Blake Burris; His mother, Kathy Blamires; His step-father, John A. Ostrander (wife, Flo Wiggins-Ostrander and family); His in-laws: Naomi and Ron Joslin; His brothers, Anthony ‘Tony’ Ostrander (and family) and Bryant Pierce (and family); his sisters-in-law, Andrea Ostrander (Lena), Christina Joslin and Colette Ruhter, plus many aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles, extended family members and friends.
