I just learned that I lost my old HS friend, Dan Creek. Though our paths separated after graduation, his to college and becoming a teacher/coach in Idaho, we still connected on rare occasions, the last at our 40th reunion in 2010.
We spent a lot of time on the baseball field for South High School. We also had many memorable moments off the field, as well. I knew Dan would go on to have a great impact on the people that would later come to know him. Though I was never part of his life after HS/College, I always felt a close connection with my dear friend. So, here's to you, Sneaky... always a Spartan!

Creek Family,
Marcy and I want to pass along our thoughts and prayers. I first met Dan in 1978 when he umpired my games at CSI. He was kind enough to pass a good word on to an old friend, Coach Wing, at the University of Arizona. Though I turned down the U of A offer, I owed a great deal to Dan and held him in high regards. We quickly became friends again when Marcy and I returned to Buhl after our time at Stanford. I always respected Dan as an teacher, official, coach and baseball man. I respected him most as a great friend.
We will miss that great sense of humor and quick wit. Dan always had a smile and was so easy to get to know and spend time around. We didn't do that often enough and I will dearly miss the chance to laugh one more time with a fine man.
Please, hold on to all the great times, memories and life lessons. We join you in missing a great person.
God Bless,
Lee Cline

Dan hired me a couple years ago as the housekeeper. I visited Dan and Claudia every couple of weeks and we quickly became friends. I was always treated as a guest, a hot cop of coffee, a warm smile, some friendly conversation, some laughs, and sometimes some goodies from the salsa garden. It has been an honor to know a man that inspired and touched so many lives. Dan's legacy will continue on through his family, friends, and those he taught. Rest in peace my dear friend <3

I only had the opportunity to meet Dan a few times, but my son Chase told me last night how nice Dan had been to him when he was guest teaching at TFHS and at high school athletic events. Anybody who was as kind to my son Chase as Dan was had to be a great person. I've had the opportunity to work with Claudia over the past seven years and she is one of the kindest and most dedicated teachers I have ever worked with. I want you to know Claudia that you and your family are in our families thoughts and prayers, may God bless you and comfort you in your time of need. Sincerely, LT

Claudia- I am so sorry to have seen that Dan passed away.
I first met Dan many years ago when Brent and I umpired Babe Ruth baseball and his kindness to everyone carried on throughout the years. He continued to patronize my glass shop for the 25 years I was in business, and as you know it was always a joy to see the two of you at Addison West Restaurant.
I am sorry that I cannot make his gathering this evening, but think of me being there in spirit for the both of you.
Remember Dan is with God now , where he has no more pain, and he will continue to watch over you in the days, week's and months ahead.
May God be with you, Bryan and Amy Powlus

I was a former student of his at Twin Falls High School . He was well liked by his students and a teacher that took the time to help them out if they had a problem in their studies in class . Mr . Creek and I had something in common . We both loved baseball and the San Francisco Giants ! His death came as a shock to me . We do not live forever so let's be kind to each other , don't worry about trivial little inconveniences that bother us , and enjoy life because life is too short to always be sad , angry and jealous . May this good man rest in peace in God's s kingdom with his angels .

Mr creek was such a a good person. I remember my junior year I made the JV basketball team and was crushed. I thought about not playing and just quittingthe team. mr creek saw how crushed I was he pulled me into his classroom and gave me some great words of wisdom. I had a great year playing with the younger girls and I’ll never forget his words that day. Made me smile thinking about walking by and him pinching the back of my elbows.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear about Dan. I feel very blessed that I got to visit and laugh with him at his 6 month teeth cleaning a few days before he passed away. I will cherish his stories of how much he loved his family, dog and life. He made sure to park on the side of the building where my room was so that he could show me his dog waiting patiently in the car for him.
My thoughts and prayers, light and love to his family and friends at this unbearable time. Rest easy Dan.
