For me, Johannes always was a strange and distant brother. He left our farm in Friesland (Holland) when I was 10 and I cried my heart out (without exactly knowing why) on the day we as a family waved him goodbye, on April 27 1967, the day he emigrated to Canada, 19 years old, while we stood on the quays of Rotterdam ... – he left his country by big boat / ocean steamer: the 'Maasdam', part of the HAL = Holland-Amerika-lijn. (Flying was not so common yet.)
In the evening of that day, we drove back to Friesland and on our way back we passed many villages with festoons and billboards with texts like: Long Live Our New Prince Royal! [And indeed: our present (2019) king was born on Johannes' emigration day.] For me, stupid innocent young boy, all these things appeared like a token, something magic, something full of sense. Since then I always cherised the number 27.
Later, I will add some more memories here, if I am allowed to.
May Johannes live for ever under the guidance and in the presence of the Lord, may he be kept in the hands of God and may the Lord grant us peace forever.
PS Unfortunately in the obituary / my brother Johannes' biography, paragraph 3, my partner since 15 years was omitted. I trust this will soon be corrected.

In the meantime I must say: I was shocked to see that in the obituary / my brother Johannes' biography, paragraph 3, my partner since 15 years was omitted. I trust this will soon be corrected.

John has been a great friend for 25 years. Only this last Friday or Saturday, John and I were going to visit again at his home and then go for a ride, a very fast ride, in his Porsche Panamera. John and I had many rides in his new cars. He liked me to drive those cars to see how fast they would go...and we were both laughing all the way. Both Lois and I were shocked at John's recent passing. I have so many great memories of John and his friendship. As stated in his obituary, John was a man of great integrity. I don't believe he ever cheated anyone and he was extremely generous and thoughtful of others. He was a Christian man and he honestly loved the Lord. One time, I took John to a major racing event in Las Vegas. After a day of racing, upon John's suggestion, we spent a Saturday night at a great service at a church in Vegas. How many people who go to Vegas make a Christian church service an important part of their activities? We topped off the night with Chinese dinners. I miss John terribly and am so sorry for his family. John is in Heaven today, not because of fantasy or false illusions but because he had accepted Christ as his Savior and was firm in his beliefs. We love you, John.

We were so sad to hear of John's passing. He was one of the people that you might meet only once in life but he would make an impression you would never forget. John will be missed but the impact that he had on so many people will never be forgotten. Our prayers are with the entire family as you go through the celebration of John's life on earth.
Sincerely
Jamie and Katy Kulesa and the entire team at Nature's Way Dairy.
