In June of 1971, I saw a Pentecostal revival notice in a local paper while living in Coronado, California. I attended the very first’s night service in Imperial Beach, received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus’ name by Bishop Picklesimer. A miraculous change in my life got the attention of many Navy teammates. A revival broke out as I brought several friends to church in my Ford van. More than a dozen teammates eventually received the Holy Ghost and were baptized, including several who received the call to preach. The Picklesimer family embraced me and gave him a home away from home. I spent several summers and holidays in their home while attending Bible college in Stockton, California. After graduation, Deborah and I preached many revival meetings for the Picklesimers and their church was always an avid supporter of our mission endeavors around the world. Sis. Picklesimer was always a very gracious host, awesome cook, had a great sense of humor and loved God with all of her heart. We remain good friends with the family to this day.
