Lisa and family. So sorry I was unable to attend the service for Dwaine. I went to the hospital to see him (sorry I missed you, Lisa), and both Jim and I had him in our prayers. Jim said the funeral service was really nice. I have many fond memories of Dwaine--his great sense of humor, his music, his commitment to God--the list goes on and on. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Dwaine was a close friend of our family for more than thirty years. One of my earliest memories as a kid was playing with Matthew and Calvin's Millenium Falcon toy while my parents played Pinochle with Dwaine and Lisa in the next room. Over the years our families shared many summer vacations together, camping in the Sawtooth forest north of Sun Valley, or Tony Grove lake in Utah, or riding the roller coasters at Lagoon. When I got older and started being serious about pursuing a career in music, he was always vocal about his belief in me. His company even printed the album jackets for my first record! He was a solid man and an important part of the impression I had growing up, that the adults around me were good people, dependable and loving, faithful servants of God. I will miss you Dwaine.

In the very short time I had to get to know Dewayne I learned how a calm , patient man handles situations. Wish I had more time to get to know him but am thankful I met him at all. My future will have many situations where I will ask myself...... "what would Dewayne do". God bless his whole family.

In the 30 plus years I've known Dwaine we enjoyed many wonderful camping trips together when our kids were young, hit many a golf ball (his were usually straighter than mine), shared many lunch times, and thrilled to hear him sing in church. His humble, gentle spirit was an inspiration to us all. God be with you Lisa, kids, and grandkids as you move forward 'til we all meet again in the presence of Jesus, Dwaine's Lord and Savior.
