I got to know Don over his 17 years of service on the Filer City Council. Over that span of time, he offered this journalist many a ride home after meetings. It was during these brief car rides that we both laughed at his turn of a joke. I also got unique glimpses, through many a story about police work, hunting trips and projects worked on, of a man who loved life, ... a man who took great pride in finding opportunities to help others.
God comfort his family in this time of grief.
