Edith Caroline Hernstedt Denio passed away Sunday evening, October 21st, 2018 at the age of 82. She was born in San Jose, CA and grew up in Los Gatos, CA on the Los Gatos convention grounds. She attended schools in Los Gatos and college at San Jose State. Edith professed to serve her Heavenly Father forever in September of 1946. Edith and Mel Denio were married in 1957. They began married life in San Bernardino, CA where Mel was working in the ceramic tile business. They moved to Taft, CA where Mel worked with his father in the excavating and grading business. While there, their oldest daughter Marilyn was born. In 1959 they returned to San Bernardino and the rest of their children were born thereā€¦Marlene, Ginny, Renee' and Edwin. In 1968 they moved to Bakersfield, CA and lived there until 1986. Edith was an enthusiastic seamstress and enjoyed sewing for the entire family including a suit for Mel. This included a time of working and teaching at 'Stretch and Sew'. In 1986 Mel and Edith had the privilege of moving to the Gilroy, CA convention grounds. Happy times and privileges were experienced there with many of God's family and workers. After leaving Gilroy, Edith and Mel enjoyed living in Lake Tahoe, CA, Carson City, NV, Atwater, CA and retired to Twin Falls, ID in 2015. Edith's health declined very, very rapidly during the last 6 weeks of her life. For the last 4 weeks Edith received excellent care from the nurses and aides from St Luke's Hospice. Wherever they lived, Edith was a wonderful homemaker and loving wife and mother. She loved making a home where God's servants and His people were always welcomed. Mel and Edith treasure the fellowship and the life long bonds that have been created because of a common bond of love for God and His people. The highlights of Edith's life have been her family and God's truth and way which included many relationships with God's servants and children. There was no place too far for her to travel for meetings. Edith was a passionate pianist and played for many gospel meetings.
